The Community Learning Garden

The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club & William Booth Garden Apartments

Project Description:

The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of High Point received interest from their aging adults in the William Booth Garden Apartments to pair youth at the Boys and Girls Club with a senior adult to work together in the garden.  This program has two benefits, the youth will have the senior adults to guide them and the senior adults will have a healthy outlet for physical activity.  The harvested vegetables and fruits will be offered to residents and families to give them healthy alternatives.  This funding will allow them to purchase lumber, hardware, and fencing for this project.
